Tasty Treats With the Tanola's

The Philippines is known for the delicious street foods like balut.

In case you don't know what balut is, it is a duck fetus. Yum. My last weekend at the Tanola family consisted of my host father yelling "Balut, Balut!" and all his four children running towards the door as though he called the American equivalent of pizza. All kids had there egg and salt ready and drank away as though it was the most precious egg they had. Quite the snack!

PETIKS GIRLS and Friends l Pics!

So far in my school I have 3 girls who I become already so close with. The four of us together are known as the Petiks Girls which in translation means the Easy Girls. Easy in the sense that we are easy to get along with. The 3 girls Chelsy, Joy, and Jolina have become my closest friends. We do almost everything together. And I love them.

NEW HOUSE !

I moved homes on December 4  2011. The next family I moved in with has a very beautiful home. No doubt one of the best homes I've been in so far in the Philippines. There's much to the house I have not explored yet!

I now live with two parents : Tita Tess and Tito Edwin and their two children 12 Lawrence and 8 Theresa. I absolutely love this family. They are well traveled and we get along so much already. I love it here! Even though they have the money, they believe in self service. That means they drive their cars with the occasional driver, do their own dishes, cook for themselves etc, even though they have live in staff, they take pride in doing things on their own. I love it! Feels just like home!
