First Time at Republiq

On October 26 2011 my life evolved.

In Manila, when the lights go down and the party begins, the place to be seen is at Republiq the Night Club for anyone who is anyone. In order to enter the club ther are series of steps involved. First you must be 18  older. On October 26 2011 I was Noni Murithi age 18. I became 18 under the handiwork of an impressive type of documentation which shall not be named. Next you must have to have the proper attire to enter, then you must have your "documentation" checked once again, be stamped on your wrist with black light sensitive ink. You pass through the bouncers then you're set to enter! Easy? Not quite.
This went over easy for William and Vinny but for me, they forgot to put me on the list! So Ate Maica and her cousin Cherrel waited with me outside. I was so nervous..but reluctantly Ate Maica is a somebody and was able to get me in.

Being new to the Night Club scene and all this was by far the most banging club I have seen! The first thing I noticed was the DJ at the front of the club with 2 exoctic dancers shimmying to the beat of Billboard Top 40 and remixies. All around the club were large screen projections with music videos. It was surreal, the mucic was deafaning and I could feel the bass throughout my body! And to add to all that were the lights which kept switching form colours to strobing. The lights were so frustrating! I felt like I was on drugs because I couldn't walk straight or see my movements through or the people around me! Oh, dear strobe lights, why you gotta do my like that?  It was Awesome, and totally beat prom.

Don't get me started on the people at the club. Republiq is probably the unethical version of the United Nations. I saw Hispanics, Austrailians, Europeans, Africn Americans, Asians, the elderly..etc. The might as well call it UN Aftr Drk because it is the Republiq. It was the first time us exchange students did not feel like complete outsiders but rather insiders.

Next to my surprise, a Republiq Waiter offeres us some delicious concoctions from the bar. I had this "juice" by the name of Weng-Weng. It was divine. And after we had our drinks we wer ready to party!!!Now surprise number three is the most important. It was about an hour after we arrived,Vinny and I were already dancing and having the Time of Our Lives. Out of nowhere, everyone starts screaming. Guess who showed up at Rebuliq?? APL DE AP and TABOO from the BLACK EYED PEAS! Why is life so perfect?Apl De Ap and Taboo were welcomed to the scene. Cameras start flashing, iphones are shown brightly, and drinks start popping intiating the party to begin!  The music started up and Taboo takes the spotlight and begins dancing. Everyone in the club stares in awe at this specktackle. I was fortunate enough to have great intuition and chose the stand 3 feet away from their booth at the club and got lots of pictures and video. At one point,  many times Apl De Ap and Taboo stood on the bar stand which had my purse and drink! I felt so honoured. How often does that happen? I even touched Apl De Ap..who is from the Philippines.

That night was the best night and best birhday gift ever. Unless Fergie and Will.I.Am showed up which would have been the ultimate surprise Birthday Gift..other than Justin Bieber <3

Upadate && Black Eyed Peas Concert

 October 22 2011
I finally turned 16!!!
I celebrated my birthday by going to Manila where I would continue have an amazing birthday!
On the day of my birthday, I got a Chocolate mousse cake from my Ate Maica. I was with Williams host family because they live in Manila. I had a good birthday!

October 24-25 2011
Vinny came to Manila from Lipa for the Black Eyed Peas Concert at Mall of Asia that Vinny William and I were attending.. We stood in line from 5:00-6:15pm  then waited inside the concert grounds until 8:00 when the BEP were originally supposed to begin. The BEP's had four opening acts of which only ONE was actually alright. We waited patiently until 9:15 when they started...an hour later!!! But it was amazing. I almost lost my voice..we had too much fun! It was well worth the wait. After the concert, the BEP were going to a club called Republiq to party. This club is the highest end club in Manila were most Filipino celebrities make appearences. Too bad we were going the next day to the club. We were only one day late to see the Black Eyed Peas at the club.
